The best time for family vacations in Zambia is during the dry season from May to October. This is when the weather is warm and sunny, and there is little chance of rain. During the dry season, your family can witness the shoebill stork and wildebeest migrating to North in May and June The breeding carmine bee-eater's colonies may be seen on the river banks of the Luangwa and Zambezi in September. From June to November, your family can witness the wildlife of Zambia, go on walking safaris to track Thornicroft Giraffe, and see the extraordinary landscapes at dawn by flying hot air balloons over the Busanga Plain in the Kafue National Park. October to December. Victoria Falls is one of the specular places for families where children can learn science from the moonbows and parents can have romantic times. Snuggle up around a campfire is the best time for families during this wintertime.
When traveling with little ones, it's best to hire specialist private guide that can arrange activities and safaris tailored to your child's interests and age. Zambia has game drives, canoe safaris, bush sleep-outs, walking safaris, and fishing. But if your older children is the less adventurous type, many lodges offer large, refreshing pools, libraries, and lounge areas to relax in, as well as a multitude of laid-back cultural excursions. There are a number of lodges that accommodate families through private drivers, kid-friendly menus and meal times, babysitting services, and activities geared toward younger children, like educational nature, walks, fishing, and cooking lessons.
We do not recommend that very young children should travel to Zambia. Our recommended age is five and above. The majority of Zambia's best camps and most game drive experiences have age restrictions with children under the age of six. There's a minimum age of 12 for walking safaris in Zambia's national parks. Zambia might not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of travel destinations for little ones, but there are many amazing options for younger children here. Older teenagers can also enjoy Zambia's famed walking safaris along with the adults.
Living in Zambia for many years, I had been to a few places in the Valley, where my soul feels at peace.
Since finding Kerry and Ntanda Ventures everything is so easy!
My niece and her husband booked a trip with them and really saw Zambia!
We had a really nice time as we ended up being the only guests at the lodge for most of the nights. The staff was very attentive, the lunches were excellent (better than the dinners for some reason) and the guiding was great. We received a reusable water bottle and a drawstring bag with hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes and tissues upon arrival; the staff wore masks at all times and hand sanitizer was available on all entrances of the main pavilion. The location of the lodge and the facilities are beautiful, the bar is very well stocked with high-quality items (even cigars) and there even is "real" coffee from a french press available on game drives as opposed to instant coffee. We also made use of the high water to go on a boat safari. They even made a special dinner of nshima and char-grilled bream upon request.
